If you look at one you can probably notice the resemblance through the ears and tongues. The ears are large and upright, they can catch every sound. So, the okapi has very good hearing. Well, they live in the tropical rain forest by the northeast region of Democratic Republic of Congo, in Africa. They are also isn't very well know. This is because their hearing is so good that as soon as they hear of a human in their territory they run away. However, the natives of the forest know of their existence. There are also some okapis in captivity, there they are said to live to 60 years old! Something that is very uncommon is that the female okapi can grow to be a foot taller than a male.
